The Villager Talks Shakespeare at FringeNYC

New York City broadsheet, The Villager, recently previewed the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival and noticed a trend in some of the festivals selections…SHAKESPEARE!

Along with The Porch Room’s Antony & Cleopatra: Infinite Lives, this year’s festival features takes on Two Gentleman of Verona, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and even the man himself, William Shakespeare.  Each show has a unique twist.  The Porch Room transports Cleopatra to Tahrir Square 2011, while Midsummer is mashed with Dracula, the Two Gentlemen get entangled with pirates and Much Ados Beatrice and Benedict are high schoolers.

Antony & Cleopatra: Infinite Lives by Pete Barry & J. Michael DeAngelis, opens on August 10th.  Tickets can be found here for that and all the shows in the festival.
