“The Ride - A Musical” to Premiere in LA!
The Porch Room’s own Pete Barry is the composer and co-lyricist of an exciting new musical having its world premiere reading in Los Angeles this May!
Six riders find their tribe while tackling a 530-mile bike ride down the California coast. Together they confront big issues of life, find power in community, and risk all to gain everything
Thirty years ago, an intrepid band of cyclists banded together and rode over 500 miles to raise money and visibility in the face of governmental indifference. This musical celebrates the initiative and courage of the thousands of riders that have faced that same challenge in the name of life, love, and the miracle of difference.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $40 - if seats are available. We strongly advise booking ahead via Eventbright.
Performances are Saturday, May 10th at 7:30pm and Sunday, May 11th at 2pm.
A fundraiser to benefit the LA LGBT Center and Arts A La Carte. All ticket proceeds go directly both these organizations and will help the Center continue their critical work serving the LBGT community, and Arts A La Carte as we strive to develop meaningful, edgy new works by underrepresnted artists.
