John Dowgin Wins Kevin Smith’s 37 Hour Film Challenge!
Porch Room co-founder John P. Dowgin was recently announced as the winner of Kevin Smith's Smodcastle Film Festival 37 Hour Challenge!
Filmmakers had only 37 hours to write, shoot, edit and submit their film. They were given a short list of things they had to include, including a character from a Kevin Smith movie. When the character of "Alyssa Jones" was announced - John and his entire cast and crew found, to their horror, they had never seen Chasing Amy!
So, in true Porch Room, John turned crisis into opportunity and crafted this superbly meta short film. WHICH THEN WON THE CONTEST!
